Kona Engine & Performance

With a choice of two gasoline engines to power the Kona, there's something for everyone. First up is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. This tried and true engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Next in line is the 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, which goes further up the powerband offering 175 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel-drive is standard, but all-wheel-drive is an available option depending on your needs.

From the standpoint of the Kona Electric, it uses a 64-kWh lithium-ion battery and electric motor making 201 horsepower and 291 lb-ft of torque. The Kona EV is available exclusively in front-wheel-drive format for steady driving and a range of up to 258 miles.

The new Kona includes an interior almost as dramatic as its exterior. Configured in two rows with room for up to five occupants, the new Hyundai Kona features comfortable seating all-around with a surprising amount of cargo space in the back. Wireless phone charger, heads up display, smart phone connectivity with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, and a slew of advanced safety technology are just some of the many features available with the Kona compact crossover SUV.

New are ultra-bright orange interior accents on models ranging from the Limited trim level and above. Buyers can select between audio systems that utilize 8-inch and 10.25 touchscreen displays.
