2020 Hyundai Veloster at Napleton Hyundai of Carmel

The new 2020 Hyundai Veloster from Napleton Hyundai of Carmel is one of the most exciting three-door sedans on the road today. Three-door, you ask? Well, three doors and a hatch to be technically correct. This third door helps to make the new Veloster one of the most versatile coupe, er, hatchbacks in the business. And it packs a load of performance for thousands less than its nearest competitors.

Fresh from its 2019 refresh, the Veloster now features an independent rear suspension, which improves handling and performance better than before. But that's just the start of the Veloster story. There's so much more.

2020 Veloster Review: Different by Design

Unique by its exclusive passenger-side third door, the new Hyundai Veloster offers ease of access to the second row, whether for passengers or extra cargo. But there's an added benefit to this: The driver's door is larger, offering a larger window not blocked by the B-pillar. Also inside: Top shelf materials set the stage with an abundance of soft-touch materials that make the cabin an inviting workplace. There's a seven- or eight-inch display depending on your choice of audio system, which ranges from the base unit all the way to an Infinity premium audio system with eight speakers and Harmon Clari-Fi that helps to restore music reconfigured by digital compression.

Now available in four trim levels, you can tailor the new Hyundai Veloster precisely to your taste and liking. Choose from the Veloster 2.0 Base and Premium, Veloster Turbo and Turbo Ultimate, Veloster Turbo R-Spec and Veloster N, which cater to a wide variety of excitement levels.

All models are standard with Forward Collision Avoidance, Lane Keep Assist, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are on-board for smartphone connectivity. Stepping up to the Veloster 2.0 Premium will add Qi Wireless Charging technology, Blind-spot Collision Warning, and an eight-speaker Infinity Audio System with an 8-inch color display.

Veloster Turbo and Turbo R-Spec models step it up even more with an independent sport suspension, 18-alloy wheels, heated front seats, a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and head-up display.

Finally, the Veloster N and Veloster N Performance Package receive the high-output engine, and a trick electronically controlled sport suspension for added agility.

2020 Veloster Engine & Power-Train Options

There are three power units available for the new Hyundai Veloster. The base and premium versions receive a naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter gas direct-injected four-cylinder engine producing 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. Step up to the Veloster Turbo and Veloster Turbo R-Spec models for the 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-4. It's a powerful engine that makes 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. The Veloster Base, Premium, Turbo are available with a choice of six-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The new Hyundai Veloster N is available in two flavors. They include the anything-but-standard Veloster N with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder that powers out with 250 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. But for those who are never satisfied (!), there's the Hyundai Veloster N Performance Package, which supplies you with everything from the Veloster N, but ups the ante to 275 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The Veloster N, in both versions, is available exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission.
